L’Oréal Paris South Africa is thrilled to announce its participation in the prestigious Le Défilé runway show hosted by L’Oréal Paris. Taking place during Paris Fashion Week on October 1, this year’s event promises to be truly extraordinary, as it marks the first time that the ambassador and spokesperson for Sub-Saharan Africa, Thuso Mbedu, will grace the runway. She will do so alongside other global spokespersons such as Kendall Jenner, Eva Longoria, Helen Mirren, as well as guest attendee Bonang Matheba. The event will also be attended by Natasha Joubert, the reigning Miss South Africa.
The much-anticipated fashion show, titled “Walk Your Worth,” will be held on the esplanade of the iconic Eiffel Tower, making it the first significant event ever hosted at this monumental site. As a celebration of women’s empowerment, L’Oréal Paris aims to pay homage to the strength and resilience of women worldwide.
The event is set to commence at 9 p.m. CET and will be broadcasted live on the official L’Oréal Paris Instagram page (@lorealparis). Following the show, the runway footage will be made available on L’Oréal Paris South Africa’s website.
Delphine Viguier-Hovasse, International General Manager of L’Oréal Paris, shared her thoughts on the brand’s commitment to promoting self-esteem and women’s empowerment, stating, “As a feminine and feminist brand, we are convinced that self-esteem is the result of working on oneself, and that beauty is the catalyst for this journey.” The Défilé 2023, known as “Walk Your Worth,” exemplifies L’Oréal Paris’ dedication to empowering women and encouraging their confidence in themselves and their future. Building upon the success of Stand Up, an international program aimed at raising awareness of street harassment, this event serves as a platform for L’Oréal Paris to inspire women to embrace their true worth.
Burkhard Pieroth, President Sub-Saharan Africa for L’Oréal Paris, expressed his excitement about L’Oréal Paris Sub-Saharan’s inaugural participation in this prestigious event, stating, “We are honoured to have Thuso Mbedu representing L’Oréal Paris Sub-Saharan Africa on the global stage of fashion. Her presence on the runway highlights the diversity and beauty of our nation, and we are proud to continue L’Oréal Paris’ commitment to inclusivity and empowerment.”
L’Oréal Paris South Africa looks forward to witnessing the magic unfold at the Le Défilé runway show during Paris Fashion Week. This extraordinary event will undoubtedly impact the fashion industry, amplifying the message of women’s strength and celebrating beauty in its diverse forms.
